To attain the PA-C designation, you must pass the Physician PANCE, a computerized, multiple-choice test that comprises 360 questions that assess basic medical and surgical knowledge.
To be eligible for PANCE, you must graduate from a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or another NCCPA Board-approved successor or replacement. You must graduate or complete all requirements for graduation before taking the exam, so choose your exam window accordingly.
